2024 Oliver Hudson

British Embassy Paris

Before the Paris motor shows in 2014 and 2016 there were exclusive product previews at the British Ambassador’s residence in Paris, showcasing two pre-launch vehicles

This required the design and installation of an outdoor structure in the grassed courtyard of a Grade-II listed residence in the centre of Paris, with lighting and audio to support a presentation by the British Ambassador and the CEO of Jaguar Land Rover.

The structures needed to display the products in a striking and bespoke style. To achieve this, the basic structures needed to be structurally redesigned to remove key suporting elements. Careful liaison between the supplier of the temporary structure and our design and metalworkers was key here – the structural cross-bracing had to be removed without in any way compromising the integrity of the structure.

The project involved liaising with a high-security and listed venue to ensure both the security of the embassy and the protection of its historic buildings, not least during the transfer of equipment across 100m of lawn via temporary protective matting.

The unique requirements of the client, the venue and timing required an approach born of experience and capability at the highest level.
