The challenge was set: create a Land Rover Defender retailer training facility containing learning spaces, vehicle displays, off-road driving and an outdoor evening dining location. Running for two months over the winter. In the UK.
The decision was taken to use an existing venue, the Land Rover Experience at Eastor, as the backdrop for this once-in-a-generation training event.
We used existing rooms with The Bothy at Eastnor for initial briefings with the simple addition of some graphics and technology and added a catering area with outdoor kitchen, toilets and adjoining showroom space to showcase the four vehicle accessory packs, but the main work took place out on the extensive estate surrounding Eastnor Castle.
We set up multiple stretch canopies and tipi structures over the entire estate with toilet facilities, lighting and heating (mostly using fire pits) to create outdoor training spaces. The same tipi-style structures were used to create a dining and kitchen structure opposite the castle, overlooking the lake.
On-site multi-discipline technicians provided support across the whole estate for two months for the UK and European Land Rover retailers, dealing with high winds, flooding and other erratic British weather events.
